Unlike waveguides and projection technologies, NewSight Reality has re-imagined the AR/MR display and supporting optics with its Transparent Optical Module (TOM). TOM combines a see through near-eye display and advanced optics into a single thin, lightweight module that is extremely power and light efficient. Innovative Design

NSR’s transformational design replaces the light engine and optical engine with a single multi-layer hermetically sealed transparent module. The innovative TOM can have a thickness ranging between 1.0 mm and 2.0 mm, weight of ~2 grams, transparency greater than 80% with light efficiency reaching the pupil of the eye that is very high due to near eye location of TOM. This enables low power and long battery life. TOM can be curved to the front surface base curve of an ophthalmic lens and can be integrated into an eye-wear lens for monocular or binocular AR/MR eye-wear.
